NEFERTITI: Networking European Farms to Enhance cRoss ferTilisation and Innovation uptake Through demonstratIon
The overall objective of NEFERTITI is to establish an EU-wide highly connected network of demonstration and pilot farms designed to enhance knowledge exchanges, cross fertilization among actors and efficient innovation uptake in the farming sector through peer-to-peer demonstration of techniques on 10 major agricultural challenges in Europe.
Some facts about the project:
- selected for 4 years under Horizon 2020,
- comprising 32 partners from 16 countries
- 10 Networks on specific themes
- 45 regional/national hubs of demo farms
Themes of the 10 specific Networks, SZE (Hungary) works in 5 and 10 Networks:
- Grassland and carbon sequestration
- Data driven decisions for dairy farmers
- Robust organic livestock systems
- Optimal soil quality in arable crops
- Arable crop sensing and variable rate applications (hub leader: Viktória Vona)
- Increasing productivity and quality in organic arable cropping
- Water use efficiency in horticulture
- Reducing pesticides use in the production of grapes, fruits and vegetables
- You can Farm: Farm attractiveness (hub leader: András Vér)
